Silver Dollar City, Table Rock Lake in Branson, and 4th of July

For the fourth of July, the Cordia family took a trip to Table Rock Lake in Branson. The Woodworth's left on Thursday afternoon and stopped at Lambert's #2 "home of the throwed rolls" for dinner. Bo loved that you could throw food in there, still eat it, and not get in trouble.

Since we couldn't check into the condo until 3 or 4 Friday afternoon, the 4 of us went to Silver Dollar City. I don't know if it was the long car ride the previous day, the heat, the food we ate, or the great smell of the bakery when you first walk in but Bo threw up everywhere, and I mean everywhere, within the first 5 minutes we were there. I don't think he knew what happened but it was all over his shirt, shorts, legs, shoes, and the stroller. Since we really didn't have a home until later that afternoon, we had to improvise.

We took off his shirt and sent Mommy & Emmy to buy a new one. Daddy and Bo went to the nearest bathroom for a quick sink shower and laundry. I have to say the bathrooms were very clean. I believe there was even an attendant in there which made what we were doing very awkward. After a quick rinse of Bo's whole body, shirt, shorts, shoes, and the stroller sheet and a cold water for Bo, we were back in business. Bo saw this big block section and headed straight for it. There were no signs of sickness the rest of the day and it was hot out that day, mid 90s.

While Bo played in the blocks, we read the map/guide to see what was there. We read a measuring place they had that sounded perfect for us, specifically Bo. We dragged and I mean literally dragged Bo away from the blocks towards the measuring station. They measure your child's height, put a wrist band on him, the parent's cell phone, type of clothes, and shoes he has on. This is a safety precaution made perfectly for Bo because he has a tendency to be spontaneous and just take off towards something he finds interesting. And that can be every 5 minutes.

The measuring station is in the kiddie section and more specifically the kid roller
coaster. Bo was all excited to go to it so Mommy went with him. That is until he was actually sitting in the car. This is a picture of Mommy & Bo getting out before the ride started because Bo scared the worker with his yelling of No, No, No.

After that episode, we thought we were in for a long day. Then Bo saw the swings and rode those which he always loves. Then the frogs which he just kept saying "bouncy, bouncy, bouncy". "rrbit, rrbitt".

They also had a couple rides that were really simple that even Emmy could ride. Here is one called the Lady Bugs.

After the an hour or so at the kids rides, we took a break to eat and refresh ourselves. They have a lot of shows there so we tried to find one little kid-friendly. We saw a circus. It was a good show with a very good high wire act at the end. Bo & Emily almost made it through the whole thing watching. They were getting tired. As we pushed them around in the stroller to doze off, Mommy & Daddy took turns riding the big roller coasters like "fire in the hole" which I describe like "Pirates in the Caribbean" at Disney, Wildfire a fast roller coaster, and Keg Powder which is a really fast coaster that shoots you out at 60mph. The kids slept for 1.5 to 2hrs.

After the naps, we were going to head out but Bo caught his second wind and we found a bunch of water rides. Here is Bo and Mommy on their version of Thunder River.

After that they had another one called Tom and Huck's water adventure. You ride this boat that is filled with squirt cannons and you squirt all the people on the outside as your boat floats down the river. Also, the outside people squirt you on the boat. Needless to say everyone was very soaked after this. Here is Mommy & Bo after the ride on the bridge over the river.

By then it was about 6 o'clock so we headed towards the exit. Whenever you leave an amusement park, you have to stop for a treat. We had a little ice cream we all shared then stopped at their fudge/chocolate store which was very big. We all picked out a couple fresh treats to eat on the way out. Also, Bo snagged a Dora balloon too that actually Emmy ended up playing with in the condo a lot. The balloon had a clip on the end of it that weighed it down so we couldn't lose it and also helped Emmy to hit it while it floated on the floor.

We do not have a lot of pics of Emmy at Silver Dollar City but she was there. She spent a lot of time sleeping, sitting/laying in the shade, drinking a lot of bottles, and just happy as can be as usual.
We were all very tired after this long day and headed for the condo.

Our condos were very nice with bedrooms, kitchens, deck, tv/dvd, etc. We were about 100 yards up a steep hill from the lake. Papa brought his boat and wave runners to play on. We usually took our time getting up every morning, ate breakfast, packed lunch and coolers, and spent most of the day on the boat just hanging out. Then we would come home, shower, and everyone took turns making dinner.

Bo the first day didn't even want to get on the dock much less on the boat or in the water. After much coercing (we just threw him in), each day he did a little better. As you can see from this pic, he never went in without Mommy or Daddy and generally had a death grip around one of our necks.

Emmy on the other hand, loved it on the boat just crawling around and climbing on things. She did not like her life jacket and put a big fight whenever we had it own which was most of the time. Since it was so hot out, we did give her many breaks and she even drank some of a juice box out of the straw. Here is a model shot of her in her bikini.

She also got in the water every day. I think she liked the cool water but didn't like the life jacket again or the fact she really couldn't move around at all like she does in the bath tub.

We also made a trip to Walmart of course and picked up a raft that we pulled behind the wave runners. Bo really liked this. Actually all the kids were fighting over this one. Unfortunately, we only had it for the last 2 days. Sitting in the tube did make your butt sore but I don't think the kids felt a thing.

On the fourth of July, we stayed up late and watched fireworks. We also had glow in the dark bracelets, necklaces, and spinning things.

Here is Miss Emmy in her Independence Day outfit.

Since we were on holiday, we really didn't stick to our normal schedule so everyone took their naps when they could get them. Even if it was on the seat of the boat in the middle of the lake with your life jacket on. The motion of the boat, especially whenever we were going fairly fast really knocked out both kids. Too bad, we can put a boat in our flooding basement to take advantage of that.

A couple of days, Emmy slept in the condo for awhile so we came down later. This is our family photo after Mommy and Bo came to pick Daddy & Emmy up from the dock in the wave runner.
