The Friend's Baby Shower

Well, you are just spoiled already or what. You had your second baby shower but this time it was hosted by Shelly's friends...see the picture for how excited they were to see you. We have lots of good stuff and I think we are ready for you to be here. I think your Mommy and I are going to go by the store this week for their "member's only" sale to pick up the stroller so Mommy can take you on walks.
We got the baby monitor, cool Jogging Stroller for long trips or quicker "walks" with Daddy and also the Bassinet that Mommy has been worrying about. (thanks Ma-Ma).

We also went and talked to your Pediatrician this past week so you'll meet her in the hospital when she comes to visit. She is super nice and will take great care of you when you get sick.

I can't think of anything else right now so I'll check in later.

What's a kicking

That would be the baby. I just thought I'd show you a cute picture of a shirt your Mommy got. I'm off to cut the grass and then head to the Cards/Cubs game this afternoon while your Mommy hangs out with her friends. Her good friend Heather is in town from Atlanta so she is excited.

Happy Birthday to Grandma Angie & Aunt Heather

I know I'm running a few days behind but I forgot my camera again. Here is a picture from over the weekend where we met Grandma Angie and Aunt Heather for their birthdays. That is also great-grandma (aka Nannycakes). She is the one who always comes up with nicknames and is calling you Splinter (baby wood).
You were really kicking Mommy a lot over the weekend. It might be the first sign of contractions. No, not the big ones but just tremors before the big ones. You still have 7 more weeks of comfort in the tummy before you are ready for all of us. Take your time. Everyone is more than willing to wait.

Baby's Room pre-decoration

Here is Daddy's first attempt at putting a video up on youtube from our new video camera. You are the one in Mommy's tummy "Due in June". Here is the link to the video so hopefully the clip explains the story. It is a little dark in the beginning but improves.

8 weeks left

Mommy went to her 32 week check-up yesterday and the doctor said everything looks good. The baby's heartbeat was 140 and estimated to be about 4 lbs. It won't be long now. I think Mommy has to go back in 2 weeks and then will start going every week for an examine.
After that Mommy went and picked out a new tub, shower, and fixtures for the new bathroom that looks like a construction zone now. I finished taking everything out to the trash yesterday so now we just "all the king's men" (aka Mike, Papa Steve, Tile guy, and whoever else wants to help) to put it back together again. I know Mommy wants to have this finished by the time Baby Woodster pops his head out but we are cutting it pretty close. I will have to say that it will be nice to be able to use our master bathroom for once since we have been living in the house for over 3 months.

Then I met Mommy for her favorite nachos and queso dip at a Mexican restaurant before going to Baptism class at church. Our new church requires you to go to a prep class which we passed and both of us knew that there were 7 sacraments. Thanks to our great catholic education. Now, all we have to do is pick the day and plan the party. We are very excited.

Baby Class Graduation

Last night we had our last baby class. We learned a lot of things and a few neat tricks. I think it was helpful to talk to other couples too that are going through the same thing. Basically, the nurse teacher put it best, somehow you'll just know what to do. Your instincts will kick in. She said isn't it amazing that you need a license to carry a gun, drive a car, and to even go fishing but anyone can be a parent. Shelly and I are looking forward to it and know we will have plenty of support from family and friends if needed. We are 9 and half weeks away from the due date or as Shelly likes to put it only 7 weeks of school left.

Opening Day 2009

Well, today is opening day and that means Cardinal Day at Mommy's school. Since she doesn't get to go to the game this year (no nachos and hot dogs today), she is wearing Daddy's Pujols jersey to school. We took a picture and then the sideways one to get baby woody in there as well. It is snowing outside (happy April in St. Louis) so hopefully they get the game in. Daddy needs something to listen to on the radio today during work. Don't worry will be taking you to a game soon enough.
