Kids go to see Santa

The kids were all excited to see Santa Friday night at the zoo. We had dinner, took our picture with him, and then checked out the lights at the zoo.

Emmy was all dressed up for him before we left. Everyone said she looked just like Mommy when she was younger.

While we were waiting for Santa, there were some other characters walking around like reindeer, snowman, Elmo, tiger. Emily was a little scared of them and freaked out whenever they came near her. Apparently Santa was ok though because she was really excited and anxious to see him.

They also wrote letters to Santa to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

Bo sings his school song

Bo's class sung a song on Friday in front of the whole school. It was called, "My Home is In Montana". Bo is sitting in the front row.

They all wore a bandanna since that is a line in the song. He seems a little shy in the video. He definitely knows the words because he sings it in our bed every morning at 6am when we don't get up right away.

Bo's holiday party

Bo had his holiday party at school this morning. They performed a reindeer dance to "Jingle Bell Rock"

Then they read a Christmas book about Daddy (The Grinch). They made snow glows and ate snacks which included hot chocolate with snow man marshmellows and popcorn in a cup painted like a snowman.

Here is video of Emmy's dance performance of "I love Santa Clause"

As you can see, she didn't really do much of the dance but she said "she made good choices"and wanted to know if we could go to the candy store.

Bo tube - Joker's funhouse

After a busy weekend, Sunday afternoon was spent putting together one of Bo's lego sets Joker's Funhouse with the Batmobile bike. It took a few hours to build while Emmy napped. After finishing it up and getting it all set-up, Bo wanted to film a video. He was in a silly mood so we had several takes. This was the most serious one.

Of course, Emmy wanted to do a video also. She was very quiet and helped say "action" for Bo's video so here is her turn. As you can tell, her brother wasn't able to sit as still or as quiet.

Bo's field trip to produce stand

Right before Halloween, Daddy was able to go on a field trip with Bo's class. We walked from his school to a produce stand in downtown Webster Groves. Daddy, Bo, and his partner Sam were one team. They did a great job of following directions staying safe.

When we arrived each group was in charge of selecting something. Our group was to get fresh fruit that the class could eat for snack. They were encouraged to select new foods so we picked a wide variety.

Before we headed back to school, the whole class stood in front of the pumpkin display and sang their class song, "My Home is Montana"

December snow fun

Over the weekend, we had a little snow so Bo and Daddy went outside to play. He wanted to make a hideout like last year, a snowman, clear a path for Mommy (shovel the driveway), and have a snowball fight. Basically, a hideout is a pile of snow with a tunnel so you can crawl under the snow into your hideout. Bo named the snowman sheriff because he looked like a sheriff he thought. We were going to walk over to a hill to sled down but I think Bo was wore out because he wanted to go in.

Emmy stayed inside watching a movie with Mommy. She said it was too cold outside and she wanted to go to the beach where there was sun.
