Cardinals Win World Series

Since we couldn't get tickets (and Pa-Pa didn't buy) World Series tickets, we decided to take the kids to the championship parade Sunday afternoon. Here is a video of us eating lunch before heading over there.

Then of course, they started playing music so Bo had to dance.

Emmy is ready to go.

Here is Bo at the stadium in his seat. He thinks we are watching a game and is very excited.

Last time we went to the game, he ran the bases so he was very disappointed that this was as close as we could get this time.

At least we did get to see the "horsies" clydedales. That's Tony La Russa leading the parade.

It was very crowded at the festivities so Bo wanted to see.

I think all the excitement was too much. We carried him out to the "trains" (we rode the metrolink from the landing to the stadium for extra excitement for Bo). He woke up when he heard the fireworks and said "wow, what is happening".

Emmy's first virus/flu

Last weekend, Emmy started off with Emmy getting her first virus. She woke up Sunday a little warm but still seemed ok. Towards the end of the day, her fever became stronger so we were giving her Tylenol and Ibuprofen. The couple days before this she was waking up in the middle of the night again when she had been sleeping through the night pretty consistently.

On Monday, she became more and more uncomfortable with her fever consistently over 100 so Mommy took her to see the pediatrician. They took her fever and it was really high 105+. They thought it might have been an urinary tract infection so they stuck a catheter in my poor girl and held it in her until she peed. Daddy was sure glad he was at work because Mommy said she cried "bloody murder". Any time anyone walked into the room she covered up Mommy's chest. She apparently didn't stop crying until the end because she wore her self out. They were there almost two hours.

She continued with a fever that night and next morning as we alternated Tylenol and baby Motrin. She still very lethargic in the morning when the doc called us to check on her. Emmy really wasn't showing any signs of improvement and Bo was not sick so our doc suggested the emergency room. There they can run blood work, etc. on her and receive the results back right away. Mommy took her in to the ER and I stayed home with Bo.

The ER of course said right away that they probably won't be able to tell us what it is but they will be able to rule things out. First they held her down and stuck her to get blood. Emmy didn't like that at all. I think Mommy cried with her because of the torture. The worst part is the blood they finally took was clotted so they had to take more. This time they took it from her foot which I personally can't stand to watch. The results came back with a slight increase in white blood cells but nothing abnormal. Then they gave her a chest x-ray to see if anything showed there.

Eventually they just sent her home after about 4-5 hours and said to just keep taking Tylenol and Motrin to keep the fever down. She still ran a fever that night and a little on Weds morning but by the end of the day was pretty much back to her normal self.

Of course, that night Bo woke up about midnight screaming because his ear hurt. It hurt him so much that he wouldn't even let us put a finger on his ear. Even when we took his shirt off his head he screamed because it hurt. He was also running a fever but not too high but we weren't sure because he wouldn't let us take it. Mommy took Bo to the doctor Thursday and she said he had an ear infection which is odd because he still has tubes in. She suspected that he also had what Emily had. Thrs. night he woke up again in the middle of the night with a really high fever and couldn't go back to sleep.

He was so warm that Mommy and I couldn't even be next to him without sweating ourselves. He just is so uncomfortable that he won't even sleep unless he sleeps with us in our bed so that is a battle every night. It seemed to last 3 days with Emmy so hopefully today is the last day he has a fever. He is taking some antibiotic for the ear infection so he can kick that too. I guess it is that time of year again.

On a more positive note, we went to a hayride and night movie in the park of Toy Story last Saturday night. Bo was very excited to ride the tractor and watch the movie afterwards. He had a drink, popcorn, brownies, and his favorite movie under the stars. We stayed for about half the movie before we had to leave to put Emmy to bed. Here is a picture of Mommy and Bo on the tractor.

And one of Daddy and Emmy

Here are also a couple of other fun pictures from the past couple of weeks. Emmy has discovered the swing and loves it just like her brother at that age.

Bo's grammie gave him so new Mickey Halloween jammies that he was very proud to wear.

Here is Daddy's paw-paw and the great grand kids from last month visit.

Parent's Day at Bo's School

This week Bo's school had Parent's day. This means the parents are allowed to come to the last 30mins of class to see what goes on. The first 20mins was open gym play so here are some photos of Bo's "aggressive" play.

Yes, he couldn't wait for the people in front of him so he started pushing the poor girl who was just waiting for the other kid anyways.

Here is a pic of Bo's partner in crime Will. They are sitting up on top of the big tube blocks because they are in time out for jumping over and on the other kids.

After gym play, they went back to the classroom where they sang their closing "Teddy Bear" song. They then wait there in the circle until someone comes pick them up.

After class, we went to get "chicken and french fries" which is Bo's favorite. We ate at the park so they could all 3 play on the playground too. They had a lot of energy after seeing us all at their school. Needless to say they had a fun day and a good nap that afternoon.

Bo's fun race for school

Last weekend, Bo had a Fun Run for his pre-school. They started off with a diaper dash at 9am for all kids 2 and under. This included Bo. He was really excited about the "race" all week until it was time to be up at the starting line. The diaper dash was just one side of the track so like a 100yds. They were doing the kids in groups of 5 or 6 so when it was his turn I believe he was a little scared. See the picture below.

We finally got him to run holding Mommy's hand. Plus I was holding Emmy and we ran along side of him outside the track. By the time he crossed the finish line he was in a much better mood as everyone cheered and they gave him a trophy necklace as a price.

After the diaper dash, they did another kids run for 3-5yr olds which was a half lap around the track. As we watched everyone run, Bo became more and more interested. He finally asked if he could "race" again. So with the next group, he just took off. He went the whole way and was given another "trophy" necklace. They also gave the kids a brown bag full of candy, fruit snacks, and other goodies. This came in very handy as we put the two kids in the jogging stroller and ran the 5K. Here is what the kids looked like after Mommy and Daddy ran the 5K
