Apple Picking at Eckert's Family Fun Farm with Grandpa and Grandma

Last weekend, we headed out to Millstadt, IL to go apple picking at Eckert's Family Fun Farm.
We took a photo last year around the same time. Obviously, Emmy (outside the womb) and Bo are a lot bigger. Notice downtown STL in the background.

Since it is a family fun farm, there is lots of other things to do besides just pick apples. Here is Bo doing hurdles over the bales of hay.

We fed the goats, antelopes, and camels.

They also had a "bouncy bubble" and here is Bo doing a face plant.

We ate lunch then we rode the tractor out to the orchard to finally pick some apples

As you can see even Emmy picked one and enjoyed herself...for the next hour on the same apple. She was in heaven.

Bo picked plenty also. He had his own bag so we bought about 2 months worth of apples. Really Daddy was just hoping Mommy would make some yummy pies and treats.

We got a kick out of him trying to drag his bag to the tractor to go back to the farm.

In the end, Emmy could not defeat the mighty apple

And Bo enjoyed a big special treat. A sucker the size of his head. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a sticky car seat, window, etc. I think the day was a success.

Emmy Walking

Well, Emmy is definitely full out walking now. She started about a week or two before her 10month birthday. Here is a couple videos of her in action

Future Mia Hamm?

Last Minute Lake of the Ozarks Trip

At the last minute, we decided to take a trip down to the Lake of the Ozarks. Pa-Pa's boat had to moved from the driveway in order to keep us from getting a fine so he invited us to go down with him. Of course, Bo was thrilled to go on Pa-Pa's boat.
We drove down late Saturday night so the kids slept the whole ride down there. They were really good. When we woke up Sunday morning, it was raining (of course, that's our luck) and therefore was not very warm out at first. We took the kids down to the little beach there because Bo was so anxious.

Emmy wasn't a big fan of the boat because she had to wear that big life jacket. I think it was crimping her style and preventing her from being able to crawl too much. So instead, she did a lot of this on the boat

Emmy finally has a tooth or two

This past weekend a tooth finally broke through for Emmy. She has been having trouble sleeping through the night the past week so we are hoping this is the reason. The tooth is on the bottom right in the middle. We can already see a second one coming in right next to it.
She is really into trying all kinds of foods especially if she can do it by herself. She doesn't like anyone feeding her with a spoon. I guess that comes with having teeth. She is really obsessed with Bo whenever he is eating something. She drops everything and heads right for him.

She is not exactly walking yet but is taking steps. She loves to just stand up on her own without holding on to anything. Then she'll take 2-3 steps and lunge for something. Her balance isn't all there when taking steps but she is very close. Of course she is very proud of herself. Here is a picture of her at the pool one last time before summer is over, Mommy is really sad.
