Here is how we spent our snow day. It took Emmy 10mins to get dressed and she stayed outside for 5mins. She is not a big fan of the cold.
Bo wanted to make a snow mountain instead of a snow man. This was a good thing since most of the snow as iced over and very hard. He was a big helper in shoveling the driveway and cleaning the cars off.

Bo's 7th and final ice skating lesson
Bo was excited for his last ice skating lesson because that meant he didn't have to come back. He was really tired for this one. He spent the whole weekend sick and then didn't take a nap on Tuesday so this led to him not being in the mood for this lesson.
As you can see from this video, he wasn't into it much from the beginning.

He did start crying after a little while just standing there. Then the assistant came over and was really sweet to him. I'm not sure what she said but she got him to cheer up a little and do a few things. He didn't quite do what everyone else was doing but he did move around.

Since it was the last class, the instructor brought out special guest, a puppy dog. She had the class line up on the line and race the dog which she put down on the ice. The dog beat the kids every time but they sure did think it was funny.
They did give Bo a report card which had 7 categories. He received a check mark in the pass box for all of them somehow. However, she did write a big statement over the paper saying "If Bo decided to move then he passes the course". This basically means he qualifies to move on to the next level. I think what really needs to happen is for Daddy to just take him to the rink every weekend to skate together and we will probably get a little further.

Science Center for President's Day
On Monday, since everyone was off we dceided to get out of the house for a little bit after the sick weekend. Here are some pictures of the kids playing at the Science Center.
Bo had to build the tallest marble maze.

Princess Day at Chick-fil-a
On Monday, they had a special Princess Day at Chick-Fil-A. Girls who showed up dressed in their best princess attire received some prizes, balloon, and picture with a group of princesses. You even had to make reservations.
Here is Emmy getting her Tangled tiara put on.
She also wanted to bring her Tangled (Rapunzel) doll to match her dress. She did wear some bracelets that she pulled up her arm all the way to her shoulder so they wouldn't fall off. It was rainy outside a lot so we didn't let her wear her glass slippers which are not exactly easy to walk in.
This is the pictures Emmy took with all the princesses. She was very excited to see them. She was scared at all like she normally is of characters but I think it helps they weren't wearing full body costumes.

Emmy potty training and special treat
Emmy did a good job of going potty over the weekend. She didn't wear diapers Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.
We did bribe her with treats like Popsicles, suckers, and chocolate.
One time she even went poo-poo on the potty so she got a "special treat". It was a Hello Kitty drawing kit with markets, paper, stickers, stamps, etc.
She has continued doing a good job through the week. The only issue is every time she sleeps she wets the bed. It wakes her up and she is not happy about it. We thought that would be reminder to her to tell us she has to go potty but every time she has woke up wet. Since we have been doing a lot of laundry, we have decided to let her wear a pull-up before taking a nap or going to sleep. Now the problem is she wants to wear the pull-up during the day. We have refused and she hasn't had any accidents during the day. It is just at night.
Meanwhile Bo spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday like this. Finally on Sunday evening he started showing signs off life. Then Monday he woke up a little weak but feeling better. We all were definitely getting a case of cabin fever.

Happy Valentine's Day
The couple days leading up to Valentine's Day the kids worked on making Valentines to give to their friends at school. They liked cutting out hearts (using the scissors), drawing on them, and writing their name on them. Both kids had special parties at school for Mommies to attend.
Valentine's Day morning, we woke up Mommy with a flower delivery and heart shaped donuts.
Bo was up most of the night coughing but seemed to be in good spirits in the morning. He didn't want to miss his V-Day party at his school. He was still sleeping when Daddy came home from work that night which is always a bad sign. When he woke up he had a fever and didn't look good. About 5 mins after sitting on the couch, he just barfed up everything he had eaten that day. It was not pretty and our couch is not in good shape. Amazingly enough, he made it to the toilet every time after that.
All he wanted to do was take a shower and bath. He stayed in there like 20mins so we made him get out. He turned the shower into a bath by covering up the drain so he could just lay there.
We finally convinced him to get out of the bath/shower by bribing him with TV. He sat on the couch with a bucket that he filled up a few times. He looked miserable. It still amazes me how well the little guy pukes only in the bucket or the toilet. He would be up most of the night throwing up. So far Emmy hasn't shown any signs of getting it but that will probably come right went Bo is better.

Bo's sixth ice skating lesson
We actually arrived at lessons early this time which meant Bo could go out there on his own to do stuff. He was a little nervous at first because he wanted Daddy to go with him but that was not allowed. Instead Daddy went down towards the red line and Bo was going to skate over to give me a high five. He was excited about this idea and he started off well.
Then he headed to the boards and skated with one hand on the boards all the way to half line. And yes, that is a big smile on his face here. He was very proud of himself.
As the lessons started and went on, he did just kind of stand there again watching everyone. The other kids are really starting to move around a lot so the teachers had to pick up Bo to move him along with everyone. Then we had a potty break with about 10mins left.
Here is a video of him during the lesson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6gzozuURaU
We hurried to the bathroom and made our way back with about 5mins left. Bo didn't want to go back on the ice but mean old Daddy made him. I told him to skate to the red line and back to the exit then we could go home. This seem to get him going and he was all for this. He actually did the "penguin walk" as they call it at first and was moving at a good pace. Then he just glided all the way to the red line. He had trouble stopping/turning around. When he finally did and knew he could leave he went straight to the door. Daddy praised him a lot and we went to the store to get some candy as his reward.

Emmy potty training
For Christmas Emmy was given a Minnie Mouse potty. She was so excited except she absolutely refused to sit on it. Last week was the first time we could get her to sit on it. As you can see in the picture she sat on it with her clothes and diaper on still.
The past few months she has been telling us after the fact that she went potty. Or should we come up to me with a new diaper and wipes asking me to change her. She definitely was understanding when she was wet. Most of the time when she had to poop she would hide in the corner or under the table so no one would see her. When we noticed this and went over to her, she would say "go away, Daddy. go away". She obviously wanted her privacy.
Last Sunday 2/10, Mommy and Daddy had to go out for an hour or so. Grammie stopped by and stayed with the kids. Since Grammie gave Emmy the potty for Christmas she has been promising her that she would take her to Chuck-E-Cheese if she went on it. Well, wouldn't you know as soon as Mommy and Daddy are gone, she went on the potty. Daddy received a text from Grammie saying they were on their way to get pizza because guess what happened. Emmy was so excited.
During the week, Emmy still has been wearing a pull-up and has gone the potty a few more times but not consistently. She has also woke up with a wet diaper every time too. We are going to throw all the diapers out this weekend and try to train her. We will give updates as they come.
Here is a cool picture I like from a couple weeks ago when it was 70 outside and the kids played in the "jumpy" house.

Bo at Home Depot
The first Saturday of every month Home Depot has a kids workshop. Bo loves going there and building stuff. This month they built a valentines day card holder or as we called it a mini mailbox.
He got to bam the wood with the hammer. It was pretty loud with all the kids hammering. Bo didn't like that but he liked painting it afterwards blue and then yellow on the back and Purple Heart for Emmy on The front.
They gave him an apron and with a pin on it. Every month you come back you et a different pin. He loved it
