Valentine's day started over the weekend for us. Mommy and Sous Chef Bo made heart cookies for Daddy. I think we would have had more cookies if our helper chef didn't sample the batter, icing, flour, or whatever he could taste during the baking process.
Aunt "Header" came over Monday night to eat pizza and watch movies with the kids while Daddy and Mommy went out to dinner.
As you can see, the kids didn't mind. Maybe by next year Bo will watch a different movie besides Monster Inc., Up, or old reliable Toy Story.
Daddy gave Emmy her first rose (chocolate flavored) of course.
On actual Valentine's Day night, we had Emmy's first gym class. She absolutely loved it and Bo did too of course.
We did running, skipping, and jumping at first
A lot of hanging (not sure where they get their abs from)
Emmy's favorite and just climbing up and down on everything
And more jumping. One, Two, Three, Jump
Then it was ball time. Emmy likes to kick "Goaaaaaal!" as she says.
Time to catch and pop bubbles with your hands and your feet.
Then you can't leave without getting a stamp on your hands and your feet plus your belly.

Blockfest 2012
Last weekend, we took Bo to BlockFest at Parkway Early Childhood Center. We went last year too. He really liked it. It is basically a one hour session in there gym where they have 5 stations set up. At each station, there is a different kind of block. They spend 8-10mins at each station playing with the blocks, clean-up, and then rotate. There were about 30-35 kids at the session.
As you can see below, he had a blast and wanted to keep playing. The first station was little colored blocks where we made shapes and animals like a giraffe.
This station were foaming blocks in different shapes where he made two houses. One was a big one "Bo's house" and then a really small one that he called Emmy's house.
Next was the brick blocks where he made a train station of course. It then turned into a tall tower on top of the station. He kept sneaking blocks from the other kids so he could make his tower taller. Of course, it also had to be straight and even on all sides.
The last station was wooden blocks and Bo started out making a see-saw. Then it turned into a snake. The snake was so long that it was running into the other kids at the other stations. All the teachers were coming over to check it out and smile at him. Bo was definitely not even noticing this because he was too busy making snake sounds and making it longer and longer.
We have also signed Bo up for "soccer". It is really just some athletics that happens to be in an indoor soccer place. This is not going as well as he becomes disinterested in 10mins of being there. He is real excited all day to go to "soccer practice" and runs around like crazy the first 10-15mins but then he wants a snack and wants to leave. Hopefully it will get better because we have 6 more weeks.
Since little miss Emmy hasn't really done any classes or activities, we signed her up for my gym once a week. The first one is this week so hopefully she likes it because she definitely enjoys running around, climbing, etc.

Happy Birthday Mommy
Here is a delayed picture from Mommy's birthday a few weeks ago. Sorry it was your dream birthday but maybe someday you can get your full body massage on a beach with a martini.
