Bo's Big Boy Bed

Well, over the weekend Bo discovered how easy it is to climb out of his bed. This is with the crib as low as it will go and the bars as high as they will go. He gets out in sneaky fashion without a sound. I think he scared the #2 out of Mommy the other afternoon. She heard someone walking around the house and thought she was being robbed. Nope, it was just Bo-zilla exploring after a short nap.

We went to look for a new bed or an alternative sleeping arrangement and either didn't like the price or thought the bed was too cheaply made. We were able to take the side off the crib which is basically the same as any bed we were looking at. To top it off, we bought some Yee-ha (that's what he calls Toy Story or Woody) bed sheets. He was super excited. They had Buzz, Woody, Rex, etc. on them. We also bought him some new jammies with Yee-ha on it to match.
He would grab a book, run, and jump into his bed so excited. It was his own little hang out place. Here is a picture.

Mommy first attempted for Bo to sleep in the big boy bed Tuesday for his afternoon nap. I think Bo was so excited that he wanted to nap earlier. Well, he really didn't want to nap but just play. We read a book that says you are suppose to just keep putting him back into bed until he finally wears out. It may take numerous times each nap/bedtime and many days for this to finally work. Mommy spent 1hr and 25mins that afternoon and lost track of the times putting him back into bed. I think Bo wore Mommy and himself out

Mommy said when he work up about 1.5hrs later. Bo just wondered down the steps for his snack. We also found some wall decor stickers you can get that do not permanently stick to your walls of Toy Story. We bought some of those to hopefully make him even more excited.

That evening was Daddy's turn for bedtime. After bath and books, Bo was tired so we went night-night. I think he climb out of bed about 30 times. When he wasn't climbing out of bed, he was pulling the stickers off the wall. After about 30mins, he finally fell asleep. Not too bad considering the earlier attempt. Thanks to Mommy for wearing him out during the day.

It has been a long week with Bo on average going to be around 10pm and waking up at least once in the middle of the night wandering into our bed. We usually pick him up and then lay in his bed with him. He tends to wake up a little earlier these days too like 6am which is early especially considering his naps have become shorter as well.

We are praying that he will soon catch on go to bed on his own. Only time will tell.

Princess Emily

Here is princess Emily peacefully sleeping.

She has had a rough time of it lately. Last week she has started sweating a lot. I mean a lot. She has soaked through her under shirt onesie, her shirt, and her blanket. This is when it is still 20 degress and below out, before the latest nice weather. Her egsama has been becoming worse as well.

Mommy took her to the doctor on Friday and she still only weights 10lbs. That is only 3 lbs more than her birth weight. The doc was concerned about her egsama. She thinks she is very allergic to dairy. She told us to switch our formula that we are using. The doc called it "powdered gold" because it is quite a bit more expensive than regular formula and even the soy formula we have been using. She wants us to start sublimating her to try to help her allergies and make up for her weight. As for her sweating, she said that she is probably just a sweaty baby like her father.

We gave the new formula a try and she does not seem to like it. She spit up a little on Friday night and then Saturday night puked like the lady on the exorcist. It drenched our sheets. We are not sure if it is the new formula or a bug she has. We are going to give the formula a try a few more times to make sure. We also were prescribed some fancy cream to put on Emmy's skin to help with the breakout.

I am not sure any of this is working but she does seem to have gotten her color back so that is good. She hasn't been sleeping well at night or during the day. She only seems to be satisfied for long periods if someone is holding her or she is breast feeding (or as Mommy says pacifying on the "boob")

This girl definitely takes after her mother, High Maintenance already. Good thing they are gorgeous.

Emily's Baptism

On Feb 13, 2011 Emily Rae was baptized. She would like to thank Aunt Kimmie and Uncle Mark for being her godparents. Also, thank Mommy for throwing her a great party.
Here is a video of the event so see for yourself and check out that crazy hair http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W41fqi0vmtM

Here is Emmy after her bath and no she is not in a 80's punk rock band but I do love the hair

Then she changed into her gorgeous pink dress. Yes, Mommy had several outfit changes in store for the day

Now she is in her white baptismal gown, the same one that her Mommy wore for her baptism. I think someone is proud.

Please notice the pearl bracelet and cross necklace. It is never too young to start with the jewelry

Here is the proud parents, god-parents, deacon who presided over the ceremony, and the star of the show of course Emily.

We were finally able to track down Emily's brother Bo for a family photo. He was off climbing on the alter.

Finally, it was time to head home for lunch, cake, and party. Of course, we bought a cake from McArther's bakery, Mommy's fav. I think it is starting to be Bo's also.

Emily smiling and cooing

Here are two videos last week of Emily smiling and cooing before bedtime.

On Thursday, Emily was wheezing a little so we took her to the doctor on Friday. We found out that Emily has RSV which is a cold in her lungs. If you catch it before it gets too bad, you can prevent bronchitis, etc. Luckily, I believe we did. We went to St. John's to have X-rays of her chest and they were all clear. We have an antibiotic she has been taking twice a day since then plus breathing treatments. They gave us a machine to take home so we give here these every 4hrs. She is not a big fan of having a mask over her face because the mask is too big and it blows stuff in your face. We have been giving it to her while she is sleeping and that works much better because she sleeps like a rock during her beauty sleep.

We took her back today and the doctor says she is doing much better. We continue the antibiotic and only have to give her the treatments three times a day. While there the doc said Bo was catching a little of this too so we need to keep a close eye on him as well. No extra medicine for now.

So for the Super Bowl, we had antibiotics, breathing treatments, non-dairy products, and some dancing to the black-eyed-peas. Then after halftime our TV went out so can someone let us know who won.
