Happy B-day mommy

I just realized I forgot to publish this post. It was suppose to go up about 2 weeks ago on Mommy Shelly's birthday.
Anyways, here is a picture of the spaghetti and meatballs that I made for her including garlic bread and her favorite bread pudding.

Sorry about that. It has been a rough last few weeks.
Happy almost 30 Birthday

Our new home

I know it has been a while since I wrote to you but it has been a crazy last 2 weeks. Here is a picture of our new home that we moved into. We had lots of help from Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and friends to move in so thank you very much. Mommy has jokingly referred to it as the money pit. I guess that makes me Tom Hanks which isn't all bad and mommy is Shelly Long. We had a "small" plumbing problem with the master bath leaking through the ceiling after 2 showers. We decided to put a hole in the wall between the family room and living room to open it up a little. We had some lights put in for the family room which look real nice. We had the gas line put in for Mommy's new fancy stove. Papa Steve has been over several times to help out and give advice (besides walk away from the house) on fixing the bathroom. I know Mommy wants it finished yesterday but she is just going to have to be patient. The painter is suppose to come tomorrow and finish sanding the new dry wall then start painting. The cable guy had to come out twice to finish the job because apparently our house wasn't wired for cable. There seems to be about a million things going on, already happened, and still needs to be done but we are slowly getting there.
Oh yeah, Mommy also turned 29 last week which I round up to 30 so she is catching up to me. I cooked her spaghetti and meatballs that she actually liked so that went well. We met some friends at the sports bar at the casino had stayed out too late but we all had fun. For extra birthday present, Mommy was given 2 days off this week because of all the snow. Maybe next time it snows this much, Daddy will play hooky to take you sledding. That will be lots of fun. I think your cousins are coming over today to stay with Mommy so maybe they'll test out the snow angel area in the backyard.
Yesterday you were 21 weeks old. The OB doc said everything looks good. I think mommy and daddy are going to sign up for child birth class so we are prepared for when you come. I keep telling Mommy that you are more than half way. We are getting closer and closer to meeting you. Talk to you later.

19.1 weeks old

Today we were able to see you again. Above is a picture of your big foot (3.5cm or about 1.5 inches). I joked saying my big toe is about the size of your whole foot. The technician said everything was fine. You weigh 12.8 ounces. Mommy made us turn our heads when they check to see what sex you were. She wrote it on a piece of paper and put it in a sealed envelope. Mommy is going to give it to her friend so she can decorate your new room. We will then close the door and keep it closed until we bring you home. A super-man-eyes (surprise).
Speaking of your new room, we also did the final walk through today and sign the papers tomorrow after work. Papa Steve will work on some of the plumbing for the basement aka your big play room and then we will start to move in on Saturday.
Mommy and Daddy are real excited. We can't wait until everything is settled. I probably won't talk to you for awhile since we will be busy with the move but don't worry I'm sure everyone will be talking and planning for you.

Baby Makes the Belly Go Round

Here is a cute picture and shirt that Mommy wore yesterday to Disney on Ice. We took your 3 cousins as their Xmas present. It was also good practice for us.
We all get to see you tomorrow for the ultrasound. You will be 19weeks old then. See ya tomorrow.

Someone is showing

I know everyone is going to think I'm making fun of Shelly but this was her idea. Everyone has been asking to see a picture of her because I don't think they believe the Mommy-to-be is showing. Well, as they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words." I know she is fretting putting on weight but I keep telling her that she is suppose to. It is natural and healthy for the baby. I am sure she will have no trouble taking it off after the baby is here. As it turns out, Daddy could stand to lose some himself so maybe we can do a joint effort.

Breaking Daddy In

Baby Woodster-
Just wanted to let you know that I am doing my best to break daddy in before you arrive! I want to make sure Daddy is ready to provide for all your "needs" which include shopping trips, vacations, material wants, and whatever else may come up. Daddy is very conservative and loves to save for the future - we are proud of him for that but of course we still like to believe daddy is a millionaire who owns Home Depot!

A few weeks ago, mommy went shopping for new clothes - of course they were "needs" and not "wants" (don't worry daddy will explain these words to you many times). Mommy had her wallet stolen last week so had no form of payment - not even the old school checks! So, mommy had daddy's credit card, which is WAY better bc there is no limit! Plus, with the holiday mommy thought she would have a few days before daddy could look up all the charges on line. By then, mommy would be back at work and daddy would hopefully forget to lecture! So, mommy went on a feel pretty while pregnant shopping spree. While checking out at the 4th store she was put to a stop. The card was declined - mommy was appalled! She knew that was possible with her bank card but never with Daddy's (Fyi -- always go to daddy for money or papa cordia they always have it! ). Well, mommy was shocked and called daddy right away. Mommy had to have these new clothes so daddy had to fix this right away! Daddy had NEVER been declined in his life and had no idea what to do or why. To say the least daddy was VERY scared of what mommy had purchased on this card. So, mommy had to teach him how to call and request why it didn't work. Leaving or coming back later wasn't an option! Mommy of course couldn't call and check on this bc daddy is very smart and does not have her name on the card or account. Well, the credit card company thought the card was stolen because it had NEVER had that much activity. So, the credit card company put a hold on the card! Yes, your dad has never gone to 3 stores in a row and made large purchases!!! Well, I have broken him in.....daddy now can take you on large shopping sprees! Oh, as for how the story ended - daddy took the hold off and mommy purchased more clothes! No worries mommy still has the credit card - I think that is because Daddy really loved the pretty dresses mommy bought:) We love daddy very much for working hard and buying us pretty things! He is the "bestest"......

Happy New Year 2009

Happy New Year Baby Woodster! Last night mommy and daddy went to a party at mommy's friend Kim's house. It was a themed party of the late sophisticated 1950s from the show "Mad Men". Mommy dressed up as a proper lady of the time. She was very beautiful as usual. She drank sparkling white grape juice, actually you probably already know that. Here is a picture I took that reminded me of pictures of my grandma in the 50s.
Two weeks from today we close on the house. It is getting here fast and we are starting to get ready. Mommy packed some of her clothes and will probably do the rest this weekend. It will be nice when everything is complete.
Back to work tomorrow for Daddy and it is mommy's last day of Christmas break. I'm sure she will be sad.
Oh yeah, we went and saw your new friend Alaina (Sean & Angie's baby) today. She was very cute and had a whole head of dark hair. Daddy was very jealous. She is looking forward to playing with you.
