The new family car...The Beast

Last week, Mommy and Daddy bought us a new car. They said they have been putting it off as long as possible. No car payments must be a good thing. Daddy was really sad to trade-in is Jeep. He had the car for 10 years. He said maybe when I get older that we could get another one. At the same time, it was on its last wheel so Daddy didn't want to chance it breaking down again especially with me riding in it.

Here is a pic of me at the dealership, excited to ride in my new car.

Thanks to Mommy's friend Heather, we were able to get a real good deal on a new Nissan Armada. It is huge. It can seat 8 people so that makes Mommy happy. It almost has all the bells and whistles too. Daddy told Mommy that he hopes she likes it because she is going to be driving it for the next 10 years.

My first St. Pat's Day

Here is a picture from 2 weeks ago celebrating Mario's birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese. It was my first time there. I was into the rides too much but I'm sure that will change in a year or two.

My first St. Patty's Day weekend started off with my 9 month check-up at the doctor. It is about 2 weeks late because my regular doctor just had twins so I actually saw a different doctor. My height of 30 inches and head size is still in the 90th percentile. My weight was 19lbs 8 ounces which is only in the 15-20th percentile which is a little better than 6 months. My ear infection was gone so the antibiotic did its job. I'm trying to gain more weight by eating donuts so here is my mess that I made.

I was planning on going down to go downtown this past weekend to do the St. Pat's Day run with my Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Tracey, and Pa-Pa. My Daddy was going to push me in the Jeep jogging stroller.
Here is me all decked out in my green.

I woke up with a little bit of a fever and it was a little chilly outside so everyone did the run without me. I took a nap in Ma-Ma's room. We went to the parade around noon for a little while but I fell asleep after about an hour so Mommy & Daddy took me inside.

When I woke up my fever was back and I was not feeling very comfortable. I took some medicine and felt a little better. I was then ready to eat.

That night my fever came back and wouldn't go away. I had my Mommy & Daddy really scared. It was 103.5 degrees. They were trying everything. They stripped me down to my diaper. Tried more medicine. Tried to let me sleep on their chests but I was so hot that it felt like they had a heating blanket on. They called the off-duty nurse hot-line 3 times but they weren't very helpful. At about 3am, i took a lukewarm bath and my fever broke enough for me to finally fall asleep. All 3 of us were really tired. When I woke up, I ate breakfast. Then my fever came back. I think Mommy & Daddy had enough so they took me to the children's ER at MO Baptist. The doctors there did not really know what was wrong with me either. They gave me more Tylenol and ibuprofen but I still had a fever. Finally, the ER doc gave me an IV with an antibiotic. Here is a picture

As you can tell, I was not feeling very well and was worn out. Now I had to sit still on that small bed for an hour while the antibiotic ran through my system. Daddy says it was the longest hour EVER.
The nice nurse brought me a Popsicle

After about 3-4hrs at the hospital my fever came down and they let me go home. I had a little hard time going to sleep that night and my fever was still there but not quite as high. I woke up Monday morning feeling good. Mommy & Daddy stayed home with me. I think it was a long couple of days so they needed their rest too. By Tuesday, I was back to my normal self. The doctors never really found out what was causing my fever. They say it was viral and as long as I'm feeling better than don't worry about it. Mommy took me to the park this week to get some fresh air and I think I'm feeling better

My First Word

I said my first word several months back. It was da-da-da-da-da. I continue to say it all the time mixed in with some other common baby sounds. I don't really know what any of it means or associate it exactlly yet but I'm getting close. However, in the past 2 weeks, I have been saying a word that I do understand. Believe it or not it is "socks". Whenever my Mommy & Daddy dress me and put my socks & shoes on, I say "socks" and smile. It doesn't matter if it is 3am or 3pm. Last week when I was not feeling well with bronchitis I woke up in the middle of the night. Mommy brought me into her bed and I thought it was play time. I started to pull my socks off and said "socks" with a smile. Daddy thought it was funny later but at the time I think he was really tired.

Here are a couple of videos of me recently:
I call this one cardinals, pizza and beer - and I get water????

9 months old

Last week I turned 9 months old. As my Mommy says, I'm turning into a big boy. I like to pull up up everything still and I'm getting better and better at it. I have my 9 month check-up with the doctor next week so I'll have more information of my measurements then. In the meantime, I've been showing off my 2 new teeth that I broke in last week. That makes 6 total. I really like to eat big boy food now so if you could tell my Daddy to stop making me eat baby food and other mushy stuff that would be great. I know when he is eating his dinner and mine is not the same thing. It does not make me happy. I think my favorite is mac-n-cheese but I'll try anything I can get my hands on.

Here is a picture of me using my new teeth with my Valentine's bib:

Here is me cheering on CBC at the high school hockey game at the Scott Trade Center. CBC didn't win but my 2nd cousin Brian scored a goal for Desmet and won state.

And one last pic of me wearing my Pa-Pa's hat and rooting on the Hogs of Arkansas where my Aunt Beth goes to college.
