We finally made it home at 10pm and Emmy is worn out. Surgery finished about 830 and they kept her for awhile for the anesthesia wore off.
While we waited, the doctor explained how it went. It is a good thing we had it today because she had two long cuts that needed to be sutured up. One was on the inside corner near the tear duct and the other was on the other side along the top of the eyelid. That one was not straight so her eye lashes looked mushed together. He also put a "casting" in that tear duct so it doesn't scar up or heal shut. All the stitches were dissolvable so we go back to see him in 3 days to make sure everything is looking right.
Then they let us back to see her. She was groggy but happy to see us. She wanted daddy to hold her and was thirsty. They brought her a cup of apple juice with a straw that she sucked down in seconds. She shoved. Cracker in her mouth and wanted more to drink. She sucked down another apple juice and we had to actually take it away so she would breath. She ate another cracker and asked for a third juice. By then she was a little more calm and she laying her head on daddy's shoulder.
She had her IV still in and they wanted us to wait there for a little bit to make sure everything stayed down. After a little bit, she went from laying there to wanting the IV out. We were holding it in then all of sudden she ripped it out and blood went everywhere. She freaked out until we got it covered up and stopped bleeding. She was content then.
Since daddy was holding her, they wheeled him to the room. We waited another hour before they let us go home. Emmy slept in the room the whole time while they monitored her temperature and heart rate. She is sleeping in mommy and daddy's bed for the night, out like a rock. Now we wonder when she'll wake up hungry since she really hasn't eaten all day.

Emmy's modeling career in jeapordy
We had a little scare today. Daddy just arrive at work when he received a call from mommy. He could hardly understand her with all the crying in the background. The only thing he did hear was something fell on Emmy and her eye is bleeding.
Not knowing what was going on daddy just headed home. He met mommy in the driveway with both kids. Emmy was still crying and didn't want to get in her car seat. She had quite a bit of blood all over her face so you couldn't tell where it was coming from.
Apparently, Emmy was playing in the laundry room with the jewelry box cabinet. She pulled on it and it fell on top of her. Shelly was in the other room and her something fall. When mommy went to check, the cabinet was on top of her and she was trapped. She was screaming and there was a lot of blood.
She settled down on the way to the dr and was pretty calm by the time we made it to our room at the ER like at 830. Here a few pictures of her after the cleaned her face.
They checked her out and really only found cuts around her eyes. There was one in the corner that they were worried about so sent us upstairs to a pediatric ophthalmologist. He wants to have surgery today on her to fix her tear duct because we don't want it to heal all closed up.
They let us go at 2 while they set something up. We took Emmy home for a short nap as you could see she was wore out as she fell asleep in my arms at the doctors office. They called back to tell us to be at the outpatient surgery at 330 but surgery probably wouldn't be until 5ish. The cut in the corner is over her tear duct so they need to make sure it heals properly and doesn't close up on her.
Emmy was very patient and good all day considering the circumstances. The poor girl just wanted a snack or drink so bad. She has been trying to tell us this since we left the ER but we had to ignore her because of the possibility of surgery.
They finally took her back around 6 and said it would take about an hour. Depending on how she reacts to the anesthesia when she wakes up she'll come home with us.

Bo is building more
Bo wants to build something every weekend now. Here he is hammering or "bamming" as he calls it nails into a board for Mommy so she can hang her thread spools on it.
After that, we decided to take the spare boards and make a balancing course. Emmy of course loved this. She kept going all the way and then back to the beginning over and over again.
Then to take it to the next level we had it end in the pool. Since Bo is such a pirate fan lately he says walk the plank.

MoreSummer fun
What is becoming a Woodworth family tradition in the summer is for Mommy to take the kids to the pool during the day. That isn't the tradition though. The tradition is the kids ask for a "snack" after swimming for a little bit. It is usually a pretzel but lately Bo has been requesting a slushie. Emmy likes Popsicles. I usually receive a text message with a picture of them eating. Here is Cowboy Woody Boland eating his.
And princess Emmy eating her favorite popsicle.
After long hot days outside, I came home one day from work and the kids were watching TV. I thought it was funny how Emmy was laying on Bo and Bo had no clue because he was watching his show.
Here is another tradition of eating lunch outside on the picnic table. This way they can run into the pool and then come back for a quick bite. Then go back to the swimming / water fun.
Donuts in the park
To beat the heat wave (9 days in a row over 100), Daddy decided to take the kids to the donut shop first thing in the morning. This is because Bo gets up at the crack of dawn 6am and just yells that he is up until someone comes to him. This wakes up Emmy too. After getting the donuts, we went to the park before it got into the 90s by 10am.
After wolfing down a donut, it was time to play. Bo tried every type of swing that they had there. Here he is flying like Peter Pan with pixie dust.

Another clip without Emmy yelling. Emmy wasn't happy because she wanted her shoes off as usual. She would rather have her shoes off and walk on the wood chips that hurt a lot then wear the shoes. She is crazy about not having shoes on.

Bo the builder and his golf course
Since Bo had such a great time playing putt-putt in Florida and always wants to play "hockey" in the yard plus he love for always wanting to build something, we decided to build a golf course together. He was very excited. He would tell anyone that he saw, "I'm building a golf course with my Daddy."First thing we did was get all the parts we needed and had to build a fort with all the wood. Bo climbed in and was hiding. It was pretty hot out this week like 7 straight days in the hundreds so we started late after Emmy went to bed. As you can see, Bo didn't want to wear a shirt because I wasn't, he had to have his boots on (Woody&Buzz boots), he had gloves on so he didn't get hurt, and of course all the tools. Bo did a lot of drilling holes, "bamming" nails, and stood on the boards as Daddy cut them with the saw. We didn't quite finish that night since it was dark so I finished it up the next night after he went to bed. I made the mistake of promising that we would finish so he woke up at 6:30am the next morning yelling from his bed that he wanted to play golf. Here is Bo making his first putt with his PJs on still. Please note, there were no one injured during the building process and so far it has held up. I know that will surprise a lot of people since Bo and I did it "all by ourselves."
Florida 2012 trip
Here are some pictures of our Florida trip from the beginning of June. Bo was very excited to go back to the beach. We stayed at the same place we did two years ago when Bo was one and Emmy was still in Mommy's belly.
The first thing Bo did was make sand angels.
Emmy was sick most of the week but the first day at the beach she had fun. Kiki went with us and here is picture of all 3 of them playing in the sand.
The family photo prior to Emmy being sick. She started with diarrhea for two days and then threw up in the middle of the night. I believe she was pretty dehydrated from then on. She really didn't want to be outside in the heat. She hardly ate or drank anything too but did sleep a lot. Of course, she finally was back to her normal self the day we got back home.
Emmy was very proud of her Minnie Mouse cover up and towel. I think she felt like a princess.
Bo made a sand castle every day. Each day was like a different theme. One day we buried people, another we make cho-cho tracks and a station, one day we played in a big pit that someone dug out that was probably 4ft deep. Here he is standing on top of the sand tower we made.
Prior to Florida trip and even the first day there, Bo was scared of the water. Mommy made him jump in the pool with her the first day with his shark life jacket on. He thought that was so cool and from that point on there was no stopping him. He had no fear. He even asked me at one point if he could take the shark off so he could swim under water. He was mimicking everything the older kids were doing. They jumped off the ledge then he did. They jumped backwards then he did. They jumped off and tried to catch the football and he tried. He was still a little scared of the ocean water but it was rough (red and yellow flags all week).
One night we went to a boardwalk outside Destin and Bo did the bungee trampoline jump. He was very proud of himself. We tried taking video and pictures but it was very dark.
Emmy played checkers on the boardwalk there.
This is what Emmy preferred most of the week because she was sick.
We went out one other night after dinner with just Bo and Kiki to play putt-putt. Bo loved it and was very excited. He kept calling it hockey and actually hit the ball like it was hockey. His favorite holes were the ones where you hit the ball in the cup and it goes through a tube and comes out down the hill somewhere else. This amazed him. He kept running up the stairs to drop the ball in the cup again to watch it. I'm not sure where he gets his love for golf but he loves hitting the ball with the club or stick as he calls it.

Bo and daddy at the movies
Daddy promised Bo that he would take him to see Brave when it came out so last Friday guess where we went?
That means we had to have popcorn, soda, and gummy worms. What would be a movie without those. We went to the rush hour show on opening day. The theater was fairly crowded but was great. He sat in his seat the whole time watching every minute. There were a few times that he talked out loud which was funny. I don't think anyone else in the theater minded because it was usually funny parts.
Meanwhile Emmy stayed home with mommy and ate ice cream. Just the boys went this time. Next year, we can bring Emmy and not have to worry about her losing interest. She sure does love her desserts

Bo's 3 year and Emmy's 18 month check-ups
Bo and Emily went to the doctor last week for their 3 year and 18 month check-ups respectfully. Nothing was really too exciting. Neither had to get any shots and Bo only has to go once a year now. We think Emily is still allergic to Eggs, Fish, and peanuts but we are suppose to go see the allergy specialist before the end of the summer to be sure.
Bo weighed in at 35 lbs and 12 oz while he was 39" tall. His blood pressure was 90/42 and 92 pulse.
Emmy weighed in at 23 lbs and was 32.75" tall. Her pulse was 100 while her head circumference is 18.27".
Here is what Bo wanted to wear to the doctor's office. HA
Bo & Emmy's first bike

Here is video of Bo and Emmy riding their first bike. It is a special bike (with no pedals as Bo says) called Strider Bike. The idea behind it is to teach the kids how to balance and not rely on the training wheels or 3rd wheel. They then learn to balance and adding the pedals is nothing. Apparently there are 3 year olds who can ride a regular bike because they started on this. As you can see in the video we have a ways to go but hopefully each day they will get a little more comfortable on it. You are suppose to sit on the seat and then push off with the feet like a skateboard or scooter. The bike has a place to put your feet up so they don't drag on the ground. We have two rules to follow and that is to always wear your helmet and shoes when on the bike.
