Last Sunday, we took Bo (thanks to pa-pa's tickets) to the baseball game. It was a special day where the kids get to run the bases after the end of the game. It was very hot that day, like over 100 degree heat index so we were not in a hurry to get to the game. We stayed in the A/C and watched the end of (Emmy's future team) the USA women's amazing comeback victory in PKs over Brazil. Therefore, it was around the 3rd inning by the time we arrived at Busch.
Of course, before going to the seats, it was snack and drink time. Here is Bo getting ready to watch Albert hit a "home run" while he eats his pretzel and drinks his sprite soda.
Since it was so hot, we only sat in the seats for about 2-3 innings. I think Bo was starting to get happy feet and not sure the people around us appreciated it. Luckily, they had kids too so were very understanding. We wanted to take Bo to the family fun area to meet Fredbird. I think he was taking a break because of the heat but liked this version any ways.
They had a mini baseball field with stuff to climb on so we stayed there for awhile. There was also a video game area where you could play Xbox baseball game. It was cool in that room so he was happy to stay in there awhile. They also had a batting cage area and one in particular that was a tee-ball. Here is the future Babe Ruth taking some cuts.
After the hard work of hitting, it was time for a snow cone in a baseball hat. Someone was very happy to have this and "Bo do it".
By this time, the game was just finishing so we headed to the line for running the bases. It was quite long but did move rather fast. It probably took 45 minutes to make it to the field. here is a picture of us in line.
Finally, Bo was able to run the bases. He took off by himself at first from first base and was about half way before he realized that Daddy wasn't following him. Then he turned around and started to head for the outfield. The grounds crew was surrounding the field protecting the grass so this was not a good thing. Daddy ran out there and then Bo followed me around. He loved it.
He wanted to do it again at the end but then quickly realized that wasn't going to happen. I think he was quite parched because he was screaming for a drink. He slammed a half bottle of water.
Something tells me that he thinks you get to go on the field at every baseball game. Time will tell.
