Emmy's 6 month & Bo's 2yr check-up.

Yesterday, we took both kiddos to the doctor. Bo weighed in at 28 lbs., 37" tall so over 3 ft now. Both of those were in the 90 percentile for his age. His head size is off the charts. His mother says he gets that from his father. Daddy says, you need a big head to protect the big brain. She asks if he spoke over 50 words and I said I wish he only spoke 50 words. I don't have a clue how many words but it is a lot. He is also doing small sentences now and 3-4 word phrases a lot. My favorite is everything is in the 3rd person like "Bo will try it, too" or "Bo likes this and this is fun". He can eat whatever he wants which he has been doing for over a year now. That's how long he has had all of his teeth. Probably have to see the dentist in 6 months or so. He doesn't have to go back until he is 3 years old. I guess he is officially a big boy now.

Emily weighed in at 14lb 7oz so still not so great but definitely better than before. She has moved up to the 15 percentile where she was only 10 percentile 3months ago. Her height on the other hand is 26.5" which is the 75 percentile. So we have a skinny, tall model. Dr. said her crawling already and sitting up on her own is ahead of schedule for sure. She is saying da-da (repeated consonant sounds) already too which is a 9 month old skill. She wouldn't be surprised if she is pulling her self up and actually saying words by the end of the summer (in 3 months). Developmentally she is doing really well. Sleeping she is still waking up in the middle of the night once so she suggested attempting to let her cry it out so she goes 10-12 hours sleeping straight. She thinks she weighs enough now to be able to do that. We still aren't sure about her allergies so we have to stick to the non-dairy and non-soy formula. At 9 months we can try yogurt and see how she reacts.

The past 2 weeks she has really started to eat a lot. She is eating 2 cubes of food 3 meals a day. She eats bananas or apple sauce mixed with rice cereal in the morning, orange veggies (squash, carrots, or sweet potatoes) for lunch, and greens (peas, green beans, or guacamole) for dinner. We are suppose to try proteins and all other non-citrus fruits now. This should keep her busy until 9 months. She received 2 more immunizations shots so she didn't sleep so well the rest of the day but as usual didn't complain. She just smiles and laughs.

Now the summer begins.
