Torticollis and physical therapy

Well, this week we took Bo to the physical therapist because his pediatrician diagnosed him with torticollis. The doctor said not to worry because it is fairly common with babies and since we caught it at such a young age he should be able to overcome it. Torticollis basically means that Bo's neck muscles are not developing properly on both sides so he tends to lean his head to the left hand side all the time. He does not like it when you force him to the right. We had an X-ray taken to make sure there was not a spinal problem and everything looked good there. The therapist gave us three exercises that we can do to help strengthen the neck muscle and tendon. We will go back to her every 2 weeks to check how Bo is improving. Did I mention how much he dislikes turning to the right? He is a little stinker and does everything he can to not do it. We will keep working with him so I'm sure his neck will get better.

Here is a picture of Bo at his first soccer game. I took him to the Athletica game on Weds (thanks to Jeremy for the tickets).
