The past week or so Bo has been taking it upon himself changing his diaper. At first we thought that he just wanted to be naked. We would just randomly turn around and he would be running around with bottoms on. Then we noticed he was doing this after going poo-poo. He was not liking the feeling of the potty in his pants so he was just taking them off and putting them in the trash. This equals time to start potty training.
Mommy read this book called 3-Day Potty Training. It is kinda of the cold turkey of potty training. The book says after you realize your child recognizes he is going potty that you just throw all your diapers out and use only big boy pants. You have to take 3 days and not leave the house. You have to hound the boy everywhere he goes looking for a sign that he is going potty or needs to. During this time, you never punish him or say anything negative about him. Everything is praise and when he actually goes on the potty he gets a treat. We refer to the potty as yucky, stinky, etc.
So Friday night, we went to Walmart and stocked up on big boy pants (Toy Story and Thomas Train ones of course), treats (candy, suckers, stickers), and then big prizes for when he really does good. Then first thing Saturday morning we made a big ordeal about throwing out all the diapers. We said bye-bye and threw them in the trash then put on big boy pants. We weren't sure how this was going to go but it started off slow.
Bo's first pee-pee was in his pants but Mommy made it to the toiler for the very end so we gave Bo a sucker and sticker for going even a little bit in the potty. Then we rushed to clean up the mess before Emmy splashed around in it. The second pee-pee wasn't too much afterwards. Daddy went potty so Bo decided he wanted too also. He did but he didn't exactly make it in his little potty. He had a little trouble controlling it but none the less we praised and gave him a treat. Mommy even called Ma-Ma to let her know and she praised him. Bo was eating up all this attention and praise. Then he requested that we call Grammy so we did and he was praised some more.
We tried to encourage him to drink juice, he loves juice boxes, as much as possible but it was quite some time before he went again. The boy who steals juice boxes out of the fridge whenever no one is looking of course won't drink any now when we are trying to over hydrate him. Mommy and Daddy were very antsy, Mommy was watching his every move. She was doing a great job and Bo loved all the attention.
We had one more accident and then a good attempt after lunch and before nap time. By this time, Bo was definitely getting the idea of it. The treats really helped this. He would say he had to go and sit on the potty but say "it's not working" and no potty but he still wanted a treat. We held our ground and gave no treat which did not make Bo happy.
After dinner, we went upstairs for bath time. I think it was the sound of the water but Bo said he had to go potty and actually sat on there and went. Then after bath, he put on another new pair of big boy pants. Without prompting, he told Mommy that he had to go again. He went straight to his potty and went all on his own. It was almost too good to be true. For this, Mommy and Daddy really praised him and gave him a big treat, a Mr. Potato Head. He played with him and even went one more time before bed time. There was no poo-poo today so Mommy and daddy are very nervous about making it through the night since he is in his tent. We put the monitor on so hopefully we will hear him if he wakes or needs to go.
The second day, Sunday was a little better but still not perfect. He had an accident with the first poo-poo but then the 2nd poo-poo he did go on the big boy potty. I think even he was a little grossed out by the poop in his pants. Hopefully that translates into him actually recognizing he needs to go. He did do better at night before bed time. At first, I thought he was just delaying going to bed but he actually went on the big boy pot. This meant another treat of course which delays his bed time. He didn't wet the bed one time yet, jinx.
I think all in all he is doing a lot better than we thought but at the same time I'm not sure he is totally going to be potty trained in only 3 days. We will continue to hound him and ask him if his pants are dry. I'll update the blog later with how he is doing.

Staying cool and eating Popsicles
Since it has been so hot outside lately, we really haven't done anything excited. We have been staying cool as much as possible. The kids learned a new treat during this time, Popsicles.
Here is Bo staying warm playing in the water fountain. He has grown to love the sprinklers, pools, etc.
Here are 2 more pictures of Emmy that I just had to share.
Mommy says that this is Bo looking like his Daddy before he started dating her. Daddy loved laying on his couch and watching sports & movies.

Bo Running the Bases at Cards Game
Last Sunday, we took Bo (thanks to pa-pa's tickets) to the baseball game. It was a special day where the kids get to run the bases after the end of the game. It was very hot that day, like over 100 degree heat index so we were not in a hurry to get to the game. We stayed in the A/C and watched the end of (Emmy's future team) the USA women's amazing comeback victory in PKs over Brazil. Therefore, it was around the 3rd inning by the time we arrived at Busch.
Of course, before going to the seats, it was snack and drink time. Here is Bo getting ready to watch Albert hit a "home run" while he eats his pretzel and drinks his sprite soda.
Since it was so hot, we only sat in the seats for about 2-3 innings. I think Bo was starting to get happy feet and not sure the people around us appreciated it. Luckily, they had kids too so were very understanding. We wanted to take Bo to the family fun area to meet Fredbird. I think he was taking a break because of the heat but liked this version any ways.
They had a mini baseball field with stuff to climb on so we stayed there for awhile. There was also a video game area where you could play Xbox baseball game. It was cool in that room so he was happy to stay in there awhile. They also had a batting cage area and one in particular that was a tee-ball. Here is the future Babe Ruth taking some cuts.
After the hard work of hitting, it was time for a snow cone in a baseball hat. Someone was very happy to have this and "Bo do it".
By this time, the game was just finishing so we headed to the line for running the bases. It was quite long but did move rather fast. It probably took 45 minutes to make it to the field. here is a picture of us in line.
Finally, Bo was able to run the bases. He took off by himself at first from first base and was about half way before he realized that Daddy wasn't following him. Then he turned around and started to head for the outfield. The grounds crew was surrounding the field protecting the grass so this was not a good thing. Daddy ran out there and then Bo followed me around. He loved it.
He wanted to do it again at the end but then quickly realized that wasn't going to happen. I think he was quite parched because he was screaming for a drink. He slammed a half bottle of water.
Something tells me that he thinks you get to go on the field at every baseball game. Time will tell.

Silver Dollar City, Table Rock Lake in Branson, and 4th of July
For the fourth of July, the Cordia family took a trip to Table Rock Lake in Branson. The Woodworth's left on Thursday afternoon and stopped at Lambert's #2 "home of the throwed rolls" for dinner. Bo loved that you could throw food in there, still eat it, and not get in trouble.
Since we couldn't check into the condo until 3 or 4 Friday afternoon, the 4 of us went to Silver Dollar City. I don't know if it was the long car ride the previous day, the heat, the food we ate, or the great smell of the bakery when you first walk in but Bo threw up everywhere, and I mean everywhere, within the first 5 minutes we were there. I don't think he knew what happened but it was all over his shirt, shorts, legs, shoes, and the stroller. Since we really didn't have a home until later that afternoon, we had to improvise.
We took off his shirt and sent Mommy & Emmy to buy a new one. Daddy and Bo went to the nearest bathroom for a quick sink shower and laundry. I have to say the bathrooms were very clean. I believe there was even an attendant in there which made what we were doing very awkward. After a quick rinse of Bo's whole body, shirt, shorts, shoes, and the stroller sheet and a cold water for Bo, we were back in business. Bo saw this big block section and headed straight for it. There were no signs of sickness the rest of the day and it was hot out that day, mid 90s.
While Bo played in the blocks, we read the map/guide to see what was there. We read a measuring place they had that sounded perfect for us, specifically Bo. We dragged and I mean literally dragged Bo away from the blocks towards the measuring station. They measure your child's height, put a wrist band on him, the parent's cell phone, type of clothes, and shoes he has on. This is a safety precaution made perfectly for Bo because he has a tendency to be spontaneous and just take off towards something he finds interesting. And that can be every 5 minutes.
The measuring station is in the kiddie section and more specifically the kid roller
coaster. Bo was all excited to go to it so Mommy went with him. That is until he was actually sitting in the car. This is a picture of Mommy & Bo getting out before the ride started because Bo scared the worker with his yelling of No, No, No.
After that episode, we thought we were in for a long day. Then Bo saw the swings and rode those which he always loves. Then the frogs which he just kept saying "bouncy, bouncy, bouncy". "rrbit, rrbitt".
They also had a couple rides that were really simple that even Emmy could ride. Here is one called the Lady Bugs.
After the an hour or so at the kids rides, we took a break to eat and refresh ourselves. They have a lot of shows there so we tried to find one little kid-friendly. We saw a circus. It was a good show with a very good high wire act at the end. Bo & Emily almost made it through the whole thing watching. They were getting tired. As we pushed them around in the stroller to doze off, Mommy & Daddy took turns riding the big roller coasters like "fire in the hole" which I describe like "Pirates in the Caribbean" at Disney, Wildfire a fast roller coaster, and Keg Powder which is a really fast coaster that shoots you out at 60mph. The kids slept for 1.5 to 2hrs.
After the naps, we were going to head out but Bo caught his second wind and we found a bunch of water rides. Here is Bo and Mommy on their version of Thunder River.
After that they had another one called Tom and Huck's water adventure. You ride this boat that is filled with squirt cannons and you squirt all the people on the outside as your boat floats down the river. Also, the outside people squirt you on the boat. Needless to say everyone was very soaked after this. Here is Mommy & Bo after the ride on the bridge over the river.
By then it was about 6 o'clock so we headed towards the exit. Whenever you leave an amusement park, you have to stop for a treat. We had a little ice cream we all shared then stopped at their fudge/chocolate store which was very big. We all picked out a couple fresh treats to eat on the way out. Also, Bo snagged a Dora balloon too that actually Emmy ended up playing with in the condo a lot. The balloon had a clip on the end of it that weighed it down so we couldn't lose it and also helped Emmy to hit it while it floated on the floor.
We do not have a lot of pics of Emmy at Silver Dollar City but she was there. She spent a lot of time sleeping, sitting/laying in the shade, drinking a lot of bottles, and just happy as can be as usual.
We were all very tired after this long day and headed for the condo.
Our condos were very nice with bedrooms, kitchens, deck, tv/dvd, etc. We were about 100 yards up a steep hill from the lake. Papa brought his boat and wave runners to play on. We usually took our time getting up every morning, ate breakfast, packed lunch and coolers, and spent most of the day on the boat just hanging out. Then we would come home, shower, and everyone took turns making dinner.
Bo the first day didn't even want to get on the dock much less on the boat or in the water. After much coercing (we just threw him in), each day he did a little better. As you can see from this pic, he never went in without Mommy or Daddy and generally had a death grip around one of our necks.
Emmy on the other hand, loved it on the boat just crawling around and climbing on things. She did not like her life jacket and put a big fight whenever we had it own which was most of the time. Since it was so hot out, we did give her many breaks and she even drank some of a juice box out of the straw. Here is a model shot of her in her bikini.
She also got in the water every day. I think she liked the cool water but didn't like the life jacket again or the fact she really couldn't move around at all like she does in the bath tub.
We also made a trip to Walmart of course and picked up a raft that we pulled behind the wave runners. Bo really liked this. Actually all the kids were fighting over this one. Unfortunately, we only had it for the last 2 days. Sitting in the tube did make your butt sore but I don't think the kids felt a thing.
On the fourth of July, we stayed up late and watched fireworks. We also had glow in the dark bracelets, necklaces, and spinning things.
Here is Miss Emmy in her Independence Day outfit.
Since we were on holiday, we really didn't stick to our normal schedule so everyone took their naps when they could get them. Even if it was on the seat of the boat in the middle of the lake with your life jacket on. The motion of the boat, especially whenever we were going fairly fast really knocked out both kids. Too bad, we can put a boat in our flooding basement to take advantage of that.
A couple of days, Emmy slept in the condo for awhile so we came down later. This is our family photo after Mommy and Bo came to pick Daddy & Emmy up from the dock in the wave runner.
